EK BALAM

Is one of the recently discovered archeological sites in the peninsula of Yucatan and it is pehaps one of the most important mayan ruins. There are in its center several temples two big palaces and a very large piramid. From the top of the main piramid the ruins of Cobá, 48 km away may be seen. There are several “sac be” (old mayan roads) connecting Eck Balam with Chichen Itzá, Cobá and other archeological sites.

   
Ek Balam ruins are open every day
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
